Impact Sports
Motorized Drop-Down Golf Simulator Enclosure
A motorized bay: the impact screen and both blackout side walls hang from ceiling-mounted shafts and come down or go up together on a remote, with programmable stop heights. That is the difference from the Impact Sports motorized screen we also list, which is a bare roller with no sides. This one encloses the bay when it is down and clears the floor when it is up. Indoor Golf Outlet sells it in two sizes, 8 ft wide by 4 ft deep by 8 ft high for $1,963 or 10 by 6 by 9 ft for $2,083, as a pre-order shipping in about two to four weeks. Impact Sports' own store lists $1,963 with a single 118 by 118 by 51 inch size, so confirm dimensions before ordering. The motor runs on mains power and needs an outlet at the mounting position. A weighted bottom lip stops balls at the base; no side netting is included, and the side walls are only 4 to 6 ft deep. Its nearest rival is the HomeCourse ProScreen 180 at $1,999, which retracts on battery power and widens with Pro Arms.

Who this is for
Honest match per persona.
Good for
- Space-Constrained
Screen and side walls go up into the ceiling together, so the room gets its floor back and still has side containment when the bay is down.
- Family Setup
Press a button and the bay is gone; press it again and the sides are there. In a room that does other jobs, that is the appeal.
- Recreational Player
A full bay with nothing to assemble between sessions, which makes it more likely to get used.
Not for
- Performance Seeker
Side walls 4 to 6 ft deep on a ceiling-hung frame, and no side netting. A fixed bay with a deeper enclosure handles a long practice session's mishits better.
- Showroom
A retractable fabric bay is a compromise on finish. A dedicated room should build something permanent.
- Cost-Effective Buyer
$1,963 for a retractable bay when a Carl's DIY 8×8 enclosure is $999.95. You are paying for the motor.
