Big Moss
Pure Flight MAX Hitting Mat (5×5)
A 5×5 stance mat with Big Moss's Pure Flight hitting strip built in: a 12 by 30 inch area of nylon fibers spun into their own thatch base, so the turf rather than a foam layer takes the impact. 1.325 inches thick, 35 lb, 100% nylon made in the USA. Big Moss has made putting greens and turf in Spring Grove, Illinois since 1998. There are no tee holes, so it does not take a real tee; Big Moss points buyers who want real tees to its True Launch Plus line. Big Moss does not say whether the strip is centered, and its product photo shows it set toward one edge, so check the orientation before ordering for a left-handed player. $580 on Big Moss's site and at Indoor Golf Outlet, within a few dollars of the Country Club Elite 5×5 at $599.

Who this is for
Honest match per persona.
Good for
- Recreational Player
Big Moss builds the strip so the turf, not a foam layer, takes the impact, and a 5×5 fits most bays. A mid-priced mat from a long-running US turf maker.
Not for
- Cost-Effective Buyer
$580 is mid-tier mat money. The Country Club Elite 4×5 at $479 covers a budget build.
- Space-Constrained
A 5×5 footprint is a permanent install. Big Moss also makes a 4×5 version for a tighter bay.
- Showroom
No tee holes and a compact 5×5. A showroom bay is better served by the Fiberbuilt Studio's tour-grade surface.
